Small sites age well when they are calm, readable, and easy to edit. A good blog does not need a heavy interface to feel considered.
The design choices here are deliberately modest:
- Generous type and spacing for long-form reading.
- A restrained palette with a few clear accents.
- Reusable cards and tags without a component library.
- Stable layouts that do not shift when images load.
Let the words carry weight
The page should make a reader feel oriented before it tries to impress them. That usually means clear hierarchy, real imagery, and links that behave exactly as expected.
The same principle applies to maintenance. When the code is simple, you can return to it months later and still feel invited back in.
